My Purpose
My name is Ashley, I consider myself a surrealist artist, as I create pieces that are more than what meets the eye. I am heavily influenced by Vincent Van Gogh, Frida Kahlo, and the world around me. My artwork contains a lot of symbolism, where I embed hidden meanings and cohesive symbols that work together to send a message or tell a story. I create to hopefully reach out and spread my expressive thoughts and raise awareness to certain issues going on around us. I've started creating as a release, to let go of some anxieties and recover from a dark point in my life. Ever since, I found my true passion, which pulled me out of depression, into a new life where I can embrace who I am and my opinions, something I would like to share with others who are too struggling. I take pride in my background being, hispanic pansexual woman. I embrace who I am and my culture, which is what I believe everyone should do so as well. My style is very personal, which involves realism and also mystic designs. Symbols play a big piece in my artwork. From an object to a certain color, there is meaning and importance.
